Only Operational Engine Among Many

At the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania this is the only locomotive maintained in operational condition. Former Pennsylvania Power & Light #1, this 18 Ton diesel switcher was built by Plymouth in Plymouth, Ohio in 1949. Not a part of the museum collection, #1 is the shop and yard switcher and capable of moving any piece of equipment in the museum's collection. Some of the details such as a Mack Truck bulldog on the radiator, the museum logo on the cab, and the big engine horn are not original.
