Congressman / Admiral

As the political season starts to warm up I repeat this post from early this year. Since then Congressman Joe has stunned the Democratic Party leadership all the way to the top by defeating "Republican" Arlen Specter and will face former Congressman Toomey from the Club for Growth.

I met a most impressive man yesterday at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. His name is Joe Sestak and he is a Pennsylvania Congressman running for the Democratic nomination for US Senator against party-switcher Sen. Arlen Specter. Joe is a former 3-star Admiral who successfully ran for Congress in 2006 and was reelected in 2008 after completing a 31-year military career. He is the senior military veteran in Congress and the highest-ranking military officer ever elected to Congress. Joe is a Democrat who won in a suburban Philadelphia district that is 55% Republican and was re-elected there as well.

Joe won me over to his support with a single word: "Accountability"; something I wish the voters of our country would do with their elected officials.

Read more about Joe on his website, and read his transportation policy position by clicking here.
